I adore Vancouver Island. There is so much to offer in one amazing package. You can have anything you want from a barefoot seaside ceremony, an elegant rooftop city affair, gorgeous vineyard event to a magical mountaintop destination wedding. We literally have it all here. The vendors are also world class and we don't live here because we have to, we do because we love it here. Islanders are a bit different, and it's my kind of place. A winter wedding in Tofino. I realize that it is necessary for me to keep this journal more present. The images that should be appearing here, should reflect the work that I am doing currently. Steph and Steve were married with an intimate, relaxed beach wedding in Tofino, BC. Exactly my kind of soulful, joyous, laid back, beautiful day and people. Laughing when the ocean attempts to swallow up your dress, freezing on the beach during your January ceremony? No worries, there is a Hudson Bay blanket to warm you up. Rinsing your sand filled dress in the shower and popping in the dryer to get it back to wear worthy shape, before your reception. MY. KIND. OF. PEOPLE. Thank you Steph and Steve for trusting and choosing me. ox

This year (and always) I have been blessed with the most amazing brides. Seriously. This amazing soul has been dreaming of her wedding since Grade 9. Every detail was so carefully thought out. Not painfully... but lovingly. Truly. Not only that but Mandy and Brad both... just oozed happiness and joy. That kind of wedding, that kind of love... really gets me excited to be a wedding photographer. Not only that, but this wedding was held at Gowlland Harbour Resort on Quadra Island and for any of you who don't have the pleasure of knowing Carmen.... she is the mastermind and powerhouse creative wedding magic maker behind making this all come together so flawlessly. This wedding was last night, (and no, I didn't really sleep last night) but I just wanted to share some of what I saw as their wedding highlights (I haven't even looked through all of their images yet) but I just HAVE to share. xo

If I were to have imagined what Tessa and Bradley's wedding would have looked like... it would likely have been exactly what it turned out to be. Elegant, roof top romantic, city chic... infused with coastal elegance and beautiful details. Heartfelt speeches and a dress that demanded to be twirled in. Tessa and Brads wedding luxurious and lovely in every way. Congratulations you two and thank you for trusting me with your precious moments. ox
